Occupations by Race and Nationality

From Statistical Atlas of the United States (1890)

What do draymen, hackmen, and glaziers have in common? They all appear on this chart of "Certain Selected Occupations by Color and Nationality" and not in most other places we encounter nowadays. Enjoy these and other outdated terms as you learn who did what in the U.S. in 1890.

All prints are on matte, archival, acid-free paper, and all framed prints are framed in satin black wooden frames.

We've done a little bit of cleanup to prepare the image for printing, but this is a faithful reproduction of the source material, and bears any scratches, smudges, or tears that were in the original. How charming!

Note: The botanical watercolors originals are on the smaller side, so we recommend 16 x 20" and below. While larger prints are fine from several feet away, you may notice pixellation when viewing them up-close.
