Growth of the elements of the population: 1790 to 1890

From Statistical Atlas of the United States (1890)

Though the pre-colonization inhabitants of North America might have some qualms about the use of the term "native stock" to describe relative newcomers, this chart of the "elements" of the U.S. population from 1790 to 1890 provides a stylish visual representation of who came from where. Note the helpful "immigration" labels as "foreign stock" rises.

All prints are on matte, archival, acid-free paper, and all framed prints are framed in satin black wooden frames.

We've done a little bit of cleanup to prepare the image for printing, but this is a faithful reproduction of the source material, and bears any scratches, smudges, or tears that were in the original. How charming!

Note: The botanical watercolors originals are on the smaller side, so we recommend 16 x 20" and below. While larger prints are fine from several feet away, you may notice pixellation when viewing them up-close.
